LIDAR at 1.5 microns and at 2 microns

CorActive offers several Er/Yb co-doped or Tm doped fibers for LIDAR applications. These fibers allow operation in the so-called “eye-safe” wavelength regions which permits increased permissible exposure levels by several orders of magnitude when compared to the 1um region.

 

Sensing / Spectroscopy

The ability of certain gases to absorb infrared radiation has been successfully utilized in developing instruments for gas sensing. An infrared gas sensor consists of an infrared source (emitting broadband radiation including the wavelength absorbed by the target gas) and an infrared detector that are separated by a gas cell. CorActive offers Tm doped DCF for use as infrared sources or Infrared Transmission (IRT) fiber as laser beam delivery in remote sensing applications.
